Enterprise Capabilities

The Enterprise capabilities enable features required for high-scale and high-traffic sites. These features are not available for non-commercial editions and require dedicated server access.

Removes the search burden from the database server onto a stand alone server search; additionally enables RSS feeds for search results. The Enterprise Search server is required for high load environments.
Enterprise Mail Gateway
Enables blogs and forums features to support email posting and replying. All editions of Community Server support sending emails, but with Enterprise Email Gateway people can post to their blog via email or use post & reply to the forums.
Enterprise FTP Server
Enables use of standard FTP technologies to allow access to file and photo gallery features of Community Server.
Enterprise News Server
Enables use of news reader client software, such as Microsoft Outlook Express, to read, post, and reply to content in Community Server's forums.
Enterprise RSS Syndication and Task Server
Enables distributed management of background tasks and RSS publication; all editions of Community Server publish RSS, the Enterprise RSS Syndication and Task servers are required for high load environments.
